early bird

waffle on my favorite arabia plate

waffle, pancake, granola, coffee, fresh squeezed fruit juice, cheese and spinach omelet, mmm.  yes, breakfast is my most favorite meal.  Any words can't really describe my love for breakfast...

I wish I could be an early bird everyday... that's my problem, I love to sleep in as much as eat delightful meals.

basket for toys

Finally, I open my blogger page, and start typing... It took for a while for me to come back here, even though I've gotten lots of staffs want to tell everyone.

This is the basket I was making at botanical garden, which is made with hemp yarn for packing,  I bought this yarn at hardware store in Japan.  Now, there are kai's construction trucks and workers in this basket.  I think this is perfect combination, the rough yarn for such a boy's toy.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend!
(oh my god... it is friday already... i feel i missed whole  weekdays!)

crochet in garden

This is a picture of my son at The Arboretum.
What is in a green stripe bag?  That's my crochet set.  My tough boy carried it for me, but he came to give it to me 1 minute after I took this pic because he find something more fun than carrying staff.

YES! He found "Art-in-the-Garden". This is "Catawampus" A monumental willow sculpture by environmental artist Patrick Dougherty. He enjoyed peeking from circle window, running through whole willow house, and we enjoyed watching him.

This is me crocheting in right front of fountain.  I've been smitten with yarn, so can't get rid of crochet from my head even while I am under the sun.  (I'm working on green lined basket for Kai's toys)

as a mom...

crocheted stash basket from the purl bee
i'm a huge supporter of the purl bee now, wonderful design, unique idea, and generous free patterns and tutorials!  many thanks to the purl bee!

I've been lucky to have magical time, such as, time to crochet or knit, time to bake cute cookies, time to stay on touching my computer, yes, it is magic!  When my two-year-old son comes over to get attention and says "mama! mama!" to me, he looks more adorable than ever, because I'm grateful for him.  BUT... sometime, I get a little edgy when he grabbed my yarn, or closed my computer's window, then I feel so self-centered... I'm such a baby, not mother...  I'm still growing into a mother who is big enough to take a break and play with him. It's been only for two years to spend time together with my son, I'm also two years old as a "mom".

our valentine's day

a cookie with sewing stitch, a bunny with white tale and feet
they are sitting on a napkin with lots of tomatoes.

I got a wonderful partner to make pink warmhearted vanilla cookie together.  She came over here with her special kit which is icing kit and message in cookie cutters. fun! cute! yummy!
I love events, Christmas, new year's day, valentine's day, Easter... they made me want to be crafty more and more, my next project will be knitted Easter eggs, so excited!

I'm sending my "xoxo" through my picture!

Hope you will enjoy it!

my love for basket

I needed a basket for my ongoing project, so I crocheted a tiny blue basket with linen yarn.
The pattern is from one of my favorite crochet and knitting book.

There are several things I couldn't leave at my parent's house when I moved in LA.  One of them is "baskets".   A basket has been one of my loves, seriously, I have way too many baskets at my parent's house, because the basket is the best place to store my stuff in (I believe!)  Well, in a perfect world, I would love to live with hundreds of baskets, but we move often and won't settle down for a while...  When I miss my baskets so much, I treat myself with this beautiful site. The owner of this store has the best taste ever in ZAKKA, her selection blow me away.

My fantasy is taking classes to make my own white birch basket in Sweden!
